Welcome

The Ohio School Resource Officers Association (OSROA) believes that the presence of a properly trained School Resource Officer within a school provides a first line of defense against violence, fosters communication/partnerships between educators, law enforcement, students and parents, and ensures safer and more productive school communities in Ohio.

Award of Valor Nomination

The OSROA Award of Valor is given for a single act of courage and valor, above and beyond that expected of normal incidents/actions of an SRO/school staff member.

Every day, school-based law enforcement risks their lives to protect Ohio’s students, staff, and school communities. In doing so, most of their day is connecting with students and staff while maintaining the mental and physical sets to spring into action to protect lives. Most often, an SRO is a single officer response involving acts of courage and survival in the attempt to save human life.

“There is no greater love than to lay down one’s life for one friend” is a quote from the Bible. The quote emphasizes that one cannot show any greater sacrifice than his or her own life. This exactly defines an officer/deputy/school staff member facing danger to protect others.

If you have an individual who is worthy of this honor, please complete the below information and submit it to OSROA by April 25, 2025.
